“Unchained Melody” - Josh Franklin (u/s)
August 7, 2012
It’s probably best if I leave my personal commentary off this one. Because I’m in a ramble-y mood (ask Jess, I literally just wrote her an essay about “Rain/Hold On”). But needless to say, I enjoyed this immensely.
“Rain/Hold On” - Caissie Levy, Josh Franklin (u/s)
August 7, 2012
Here’s the thing, though. If you think anyone sings like Caissie Levy, you’re a fool. You’re out of your damn mind. Not only did she do that same riff I posted about last week, but she went above and beyond. She clearly felt like she needed to match Josh, who riffed his little face off, and was incredible. If you don’t listen to this, I think you’re stupid and we can’t be friends. This is flawless. Hands down favorite version of this song that I’ve seen and/or heard. Done.
“Take Me Or Leave Me” - Emma Hunton, Shaleah Adkisson

Shaleah is kind of flawless.
“Santa Fe” - Mike Faist (u/s)

Wonderful. Just wonderful. He sings it lower than Jeremy, but he nails it from start to finish. He was just absolutely fantastic.
“High Flying Adored” - Max Von Essen (u/s Che), Christina DeCicco (alt. Eva)

“And the Money Kept Rolling In” - Max Von Essen (u/s Che)

Here’s the thing about Max Von Essen, he’s flawless. He has absolutely one of the most incredible voices I’ve ever heard. And I know I say that a lot about a lot of different people, but this time it’s 100% true. He would be near the top of the list of my favorite voices, for sure. During this song I got so overwhelmed that I almost just started sobbing because I was so happy. I’m so glad he got the chance to go on for Ricky this week and I absolutely plan on going to see him if he goes on again in August. Remarkable.
“Rain/Hold On” - Alison Luff (u/s Molly), Richard Fleeshman
Also featuring Moya Angela and Jason Babinsky

Her riffs tho. Alison has a ridiculous voice.
“With You” - Jennifer Noble (u/s Molly)
July 3, 2012
Only her second time on, and she kinda knocked this song out of the park. As soon as the lights went down at the end of this song, Molly turned to me and just said “holy shit.” Which is a pretty fair summation of the performance of this song. She hits an awkward note near the beginning, it seemed like she thought she was either ahead of or behind the music so she stalled and then continued. But from there on, it’s smooth sailing.
“Learn Your Lessons Well (Reprise)” - Eric Michael Krop, Hannah Elless, Corey Mach

Obsessed.
